Education / Experience :
Technology focused individual with 8+ years of work experience with BS degree, 7+ years of work experience with advanced degree. Work experience should include : direct experience with energy efficiency of manufacturing or building systems, or analysis, design, or implementation of technologies focused on energy efficiency or renewables.

The New York State Pollution Prevention Institute (NYSP2I) is a statewide technology development, transfer, and assistance center whose mission is to make New York state more environmentally sustainable for businesses, workers, and the public through more efficient use of raw materials, energy and water, and reductions in toxic chemical use, emissions to the environment and waste generation. NYSP2I is an integrated program of several major elements : direct technical assistance to industry and organizations; research, development, and diffusion; outreach; professional training; a community grants program; and academic educational program development. NYSP2I also focuses on the acceleration of green technologies and greening of the supply chain. NYSP2I is led by Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and is a partnership between RIT, Clarkson University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Cornell University, Binghamton University and the New York Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP).
Job Summary
The Senior Engineer-Energy Systems position will primarily support industrial / manufacturing client programs of the New York State Pollution Prevention Institute (NYSP2I) at the Golisano Institute for Sustainability at RIT. The Senior Engineer will use their technical expertise and industry experience to facilitate the reduction of energy consumption in manufacturing and other industrial environments.
The Senior Energy Systems Engineer will evaluate energy use reduction and energy efficiency opportunities at manufacturers, manage client and partner relationships, and develop and execute project proposals in a variety of different industry sectors. Working in a team based environment, as both a project lead, and a project contributor for different projects, this role is responsible for : researching, identifying, and developing solutions or evaluating existing technologies to address energy efficiency opportunities, managing projects to an on-time and on-budget completion, mentoring junior staff, and documenting project outcomes (via detailed final client reports, case studies, project presentations, workshops, etc). The position reports to the NYS P2I Associate Director.
