Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 2 years of home health experience and a valid state license for day shifts in a home health setting.

Responsibilities

  • Home health position serving adult and geriatric patients specializing in cardiopulmonary, neuro, ortho, and oncology cases
  • Home skilled visits with a minimum of 6-8 visits per day, determined by manager discretion
  • Solid color scrubs are required for all shifts
  • Day shift schedule : 5x8 hour shifts, 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM
  • Work self-scheduled based on office needs, including every 3rd weekend
  • Use of laptop, MiFi, and portable printer provided for documentation and communication
  • Charting performed using BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, Ace Timesheet documentation system; Cerner experience preferred
  • Responsibilities include assessment, treatment planning, delivery of home exercise programs, patient and family education, and safety and injury prevention
  • Patient caseload includes those with complex needs such as cardiopulmonary, neuro, ortho, and oncology diagnoses
  • Must be able to perform documentation and utilize equipment such as crutches, gait belts, walkers, hospital beds, supplemental oxygen devices, and slings
  • Must pass an EKG exam (3 attempts allowed)
  • Annual and pre-start modules required, up to 4 hours for allied health professionals
  • Smoke-free work environment
  • Return travelers must wait 1 year since last contract; special rules apply for former staff
  • No RTO will be accepted as part of the contract; any requests must be negotiated with unit manager on site

    • Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent physical therapy experience in a home health setting required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Valid FL state or compact license required at time of consideration (License required if applicable)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable car for home visits required
  • COVID-19 vaccination required unless exemption is on file
  • Flu vaccine required or declination with mandatory mask use
  • OASIS training preferred
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Must live at least 100 miles from the facility address to qualify
