Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Human Resources & Payroll Administrator to join our growing team. This role combines the core functions of Human Resources and Payroll into a single, dynamic position. You will be responsible for managing the full employee lifecyclefrom recruitment and onboarding to benefits administration and payroll processingensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional employee support.
Core Responsibilities
Human Resources Administration
- Manage the full hiring cycle through HR software : job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communication.
- Conduct verification of employment and draft employment contracts.
- Onboard new hires into HR and payroll systems and benefits programs.
- Administer benefits (health, dental, vision, life, 401(k)) and manage enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Track and manage PTO through HR software and other integrated systems.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including personnel files, asset lists, and compliance documentation.
- Use HR software for performance reviews, compliance tracking, and process management.
Payroll Administration
Calculate wages, including overtime, bonuses, and commissions, using QuickBooks Payroll.Process deductions for taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.Prepare and distribute paychecks or coordinate direct deposits.Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and employment requirements.Utilize time tracking and job costing software to ensure accurate payroll and job cost allocation.Reconcile payroll-related accounts and prepare necessary reports.Reconcile benefits entries in QuickBooks against vendor invoices to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.File federal and state tax payments and complete required payroll-related tax filings accurately and on time.File quarterly reports with Texas Mutual for workers compensation compliance.Essential Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience in both Human Resources and Payroll administration.Strong knowledge of payroll systems (QuickBooks Payroll) and HR software.Familiarity with time tracking and job costing software.Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in payroll calculations and record-keeping.Excellent math, organizational, and problem-solving skills.In-depth understanding of employment laws, payroll tax regulations, and benefits administration.Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with employees, management, and vendors.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.Why Join E Contractors USA?
