Position Summary
The Program Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating high-impact programs and initiatives aligned with the organization’s mission and strategic goals. This includes managing events, policy-focused programming, leadership development opportunities, and technical assistance to members. The ideal candidate has experience in program delivery, stakeholder engagement, and affordable housing or community development, and thrives in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Program Planning & Management
- Ensure all programming reflects the Housing& brand — our belief that housing is the foundation of thriving communities and that effective solutions require cross-sector collaboration. Design and execute events and learning opportunities that engage leaders across housing, healthcare, education, economic development, and business, highlighting their interconnected roles in community development
- Design and execute policy, advocacy, and capacity-building programs tailored to the needs of cross-sector members
- Manage program calendars, timelines, budgets, and reporting requirements
- Coordinate logistics and delivery of in-person and virtual events, workshops, and trainings
- Track key program metrics, collect feedback, and support continuous improvement
Stakeholder & Member Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with members, partners, and subject matter expertsServe as a liaison to working groups, advisory committees, and community coalitionsRespond to member needs, aligning programming with emerging trends, priorities, and challenges in housing policy and practiceServe as the staff lead for the Housing& Program Committee, coordinating meetings and activities that support the development and execution of the organization’s programmatic calendar throughout the year. Facilitate collaboration between committee members and staff to ensure programming is responsive, timely, and mission-alignedAdvocacy & Policy Support
Collaborate with policy staff to integrate advocacy strategies into programmingSupport briefings, roundtables, and educational initiatives that inform and mobilize stakeholdersStay informed on relevant housing policy issues at the local, state, and federal levelsTraining & Capacity Building
Help develop curricula, resource toolkits, and training materialsCoordinate speaker outreach, content design, and participant experience for training sessions and peer learning cohortsSupport the implementation of technical assistance programs or learning collaboratives with public, private, and nonprofit partnersCommunications & Coordination
Partner with communications staff to develop outreach materials, event promotion, and program summariesMaintain accurate records in project management and CRM systems (e.g., Asana, Salesforce, etc.)Qualifications
4–6 years of experience in nonprofit, government, or mission-driven work related to housing, urban planning, public policy, or a related fieldProven experience managing programs from concept to execution and evaluationStrong facilitation, project management, and event coordination skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of affordable housing policy, systems, and stakeholders preferredAbility to engage with a diverse set of partners across sectors and perspectivesFamiliarity with CRM, virtual event platforms, and project management toolsStrategic thinker with a strong attention to detail and follow-throughCollaborative, curious, and committed to equity and inclusionAble to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving work environment with competing prioritiesCompensation & Benefits
Salary Range : $55,000 - $70,000Housing& has a robust benefits package that includes employer-funded healthcare, life insurance, retirement, and vacation.
