Executive Director

This Executive Director role offers an exceptional opportunity to join a preeminent leader in affordable housing and play a pivotal role in solving the affordable housing crisis during a time of change from a position of strength and make a direct and tangible difference in the lives of thousands of families across Massachusetts.

Reporting to the Board of Directors and leading a highly capable Steering Committee, composed of five members, including the Executive Director (ED), each recognized as an expert and go-to leader in their respective field, the ED will succeed a long-tenured and well-respected leader in the Massachusetts and national affordable housing ecosystem. The incoming ED will inherit a prestigious, mission-driven organization with a 40-year legacy of impact. MHP has a strong balance sheet and diversified funding sources, and its dedicated staff consistently deliver innovative, high-performing programs that shape housing policy and practice across the state. The organization is well-positioned for continued success with the capacity and credibility to drive meaningful change and increase its impact.

Over the past several years, MHP has grown significantly in scale and complexity, prompting the development of a new strategic plan. This strategic plan directs MHP’s resources toward evidence based best practices and innovative investments that increase equitable access to homes in thriving communities. By learning from these efforts, MHP identifies the system changes needed to accelerate housing solutions across the Commonwealth. The new ED will champion this strategy, ensuring that all decisions and programs advance MHP’s mission, vision, and values.

MHP delivers on its mission by focusing on three strategic pillars : Supportive Environment : Building a state and local environment that expands housing opportunity and supports housing production at a scale commensurate with the Commonwealth’s needs. Effective Financing : Providing financing products and promoting partnerships that expand housing supply and equitable access to housing. Healthy Organization : Ensuring that MHP is a strong and resilient organization. The ED will lead implementation of the strategic plan through these three pillars, guided by the Steering Committee and supporting team leaders in advancing their work with clarity, collaboration and impact.
