Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for this position are teaching and advising (Adult rehabilitation and disability practice preferred but not required), as well as participating in scholarly endeavors and providing service within the College and community. This position will be involved in research courses and serve as faculty mentor for OTD students. Faculty blend classroom and experiential learning by integrating field- or community-based experiences across the curriculum, consistent with Springfield College’s mission and renowned commitment to service learning and community engagement.
Qualifications
Candidates are required to hold an earned doctorate degree (ABD will be considered) in occupational therapy or a related area awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized institutional accrediting agency. Applicants must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience, initial certification as an occupational therapist, and eligibility for OT licensure in Massachusetts. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, leadership skills, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Teaching experience in higher education, evidence of commitment to scholarship, ability to collaborate and work in a team environment, technology skills to support teaching and scholarship are preferred.
