Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an outpatient setting, requiring a BLS and VA license with a preference for experienced clinicians but new grads will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Outpatient facility attached to hospital with a focus on geriatric, ambulatory orthopedics, and neurological patients
  • Main patient population includes joint replacements, post-stroke, balance disorders, and general outpatient rehab
  • Equipment includes cryotherapy, heating pads, antigravity devices, TENS units, and parallel bars
  • Staff includes full-time PT, supervisor, OT, speech therapist, and rehab tech on-site
  • 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with the option to pick up weekend shifts if desired
  • Responsibilities include evaluating, treating, and developing plans of care for orthopedic and neuro outpatient populations
  • Team consists of experienced therapists and support staff for collaborative patient care
  • Pass / fail EKG testing required on the first day, with two attempts allowed
  • Scrub attire or professional dress code appropriate for outpatient rehab is expected
  • Open to travel candidates only; local candidates are not eligible for this role
  • Open to temp-to-perm opportunities

    • Requirements

  • Active VA Physical Therapy license required; license required if applicable
  • BLS certification required
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program with at least a bachelor's degree; doctorate preferred
  • Experience in outpatient physical therapy preferred but not required
  • Candidate must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • Willingness to undergo pass / fail EKG testing on the first day; study guides provided
