Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (EI&C) Engineer Location : North Denver, CO (On-site in Arvada) Schedule : Full-time | On-site | Optional 9 / 80 work schedule (every other Friday off) Compensation : $130,000–$150,000 base + sign-on bonus + performance bonuses Travel : Light (approx. 10–20%, ~1 week / year total) Employment Type : Direct hire, permanent A global industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking a skilled EI&C Engineer to join its high-performing team in North Denver. This role is key to delivering custom-engineered compressor and pump systems for use in oil & gas, petrochemical, and power generation facilities worldwide. You’ll be responsible for the complete electrical and controls scope of each project—from system design and programming through FAT and field support. What You’ll Do : Lead the design, specification, and development of control systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA, SIS) for engineered-to-order industrial equipment. Generate PLC code (Rockwell, Siemens), one-line diagrams, schematics, bill of materials, wire lists, and associated technical documentation. Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical blueprints, flow diagrams, and mechanical drawings. Customize automation systems using AutoCAD and drafting tools. Specify instrumentation and control valves tied to anti-surge systems and performance monitoring. Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), including procedures and live testing (with customer witness). Support occasional on-site commissioning and troubleshooting (domestic and international). Collaborate with project teams to uphold technical accuracy, product safety, and compliance with NEC, IEC, and hazardous area classification standards. Contribute to standardization of software libraries, internal documentation, and control logic templates. Help shape operational procedures and develop new engineering processes. What You Bring : Minimum Qualifications : 5+ years of EI&C engineering experience in rotating equipment or engineered-to-order systems. Extensive knowledge of centrifugal compressors and / or pumps. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related STEM field (or equivalent experience for candidates with 8+ years in relevant roles). Strong programming and configuration skills for Rockwell and / or Siemens PLC / HMI platforms. Familiarity with MCC circuits, VFDs, soft starters, and industrial communication protocols (Ethernet / IP, Modbus, Fieldbus). Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools. Solid understanding of NEC, IEC codes, and hazardous location requirements. Strong communication skills and customer-facing professionalism. Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport. Highly Preferred Qualifications : Experience with Bently Nevada or similar machine monitoring systems. Familiarity with electrical installation on skid-based systems.
