Position Summary
The Public Health Environmental Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing environmental health programs to protect and promote public health. This role involves conducting inspections, assessing environmental risks, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting community health initiatives. The Officer works closely with teams, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to address environmental health concerns effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct routine inspections of public facilities, workplaces, water sources, and other environmental sites.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, assessments, and environmental incidents.
Assist in planning and implementing environmental health initiatives and interventions.
Advise communities, organizations, and internal teams on environmental health standards and practices.
Liaise with government agencies, NGOs, and community stakeholders for environmental health initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, or related field.
2-5 years of experience in environmental health, public health, or related field.
Strong knowledge of environmental health principles, sanitation, and safety standards.
