Wawona Frozen Foods seeks to hire a human resources manager as a member of the human resources team. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position will fill a key role in the administration function of the Company. The position is responsible for managing employee relations, talent acquisition and development, developing and implementing human resources policies, compliance with labor laws and company policies, and collaborating with management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates and consults with the executive leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resources needs
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs aligned with overall business strategy and vision
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
- Oversee the daily workflow and compliance of HR department
- Oversee practices as it relates to hiring, talent development, performance management, and employee relations
- Oversee the design and administration of benefits and retirement offerings that attract and support talent
- Maintain employee records and process payroll for confidential employees
- Knowledgeable in workers compensation and safety compliance
- Oversee the HR team, leading and guiding seasonal staffing and hiring needs.
- Lead Workers Compensation and 401k Audit process.
- Manage the performance review process and lead the staff development process.
- Lead continuous improvement for the HR function of Wawona
- Lead cultural initiatives companywide with the guidance of leadership.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related fieldMinimum of five years of human resources management experience preferredAlignment with the company's mission and core valuesBilingual in English and Spanish preferred (read and write)Extensive experience in HR management, with an in-depth knowledge of HR principles and best practicesAbility to collaborate effectively with leadership and legal teams on complex issuesUnderstanding of state and federal employment regulationsUnderstanding of personnel and compliance records managementAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to lead and motivate team membersStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsFlexibility in duties and assignmentsProficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)Expert user in ATS / HRIS programs to build out job postings, data management, onboarding, EDI feeds, etc.Physical Demands & Abilities
