Position Overview

The Risk Management Analyst will provide critical support for AutoNation's Risk Management department by assisting with insurance accounting, financial analysis, and project management. This role ensures accurate financial reporting related to insurance activities and supports Risk Management initiatives, program renewals, audits, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Perform insurance-related accounting functions, including invoice processing, premium allocations, and reconciliations

Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for Risk Management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls

Assist with preparing schedules and documentation for internal and external audits

Assist in the annual insurance renewal process by compiling underwriting data, loss runs, and exposure schedules

Support budgeting and forecasting activities for Risk Management expenses and insurance premiums

Coordinate payment tracking and reporting for claims, deductibles, and premium costs

Assist in special projects such as claims analysis, loss forecasting, and risk financing evaluations

Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs to provide insights into insurance program performance

Collaborate with brokers, carriers, internal departments, and third-party administrators as needed

Maintain knowledge of insurance principles, financial reporting standards, and relevant regulations

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field

2+ years of experience in insurance accounting, financial analysis, risk management, or related field; corporate or brokerage experience preferred

Strong understanding of insurance concepts and financial reporting principles

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling), Word, and PowerPoint

Experience with accounting and insurance management systems is preferred

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Insurance or accounting certifications (e.g., ARM, CPCU, CPA) a plus
