Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Augusta, Georgia 30901

Assignment Length : 12-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : January 12, 2026

End Date : April 6, 2026

Unit : Renal Medical-Surgical Unit (49 rooms, average daily census : 48)

Shift : 3x12-hour day shifts (07 : 00 - 19 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Floating : Yes, as needed to other nursing units

Charting System : Epic (required)

Scrub Color : Navy Blue

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1360-$1460

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Georgia RN license or Compact Registered Nurse license (must be in hand at submission)

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience in a hospital setting

BLS certification (required for all healthcare jobs)

Proficiency with Epic electronic charting system

Experience providing care to adult and geriatric patients

Ability to work every other weekend and major holidays as scheduled

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted)

Full compliance with all onboarding and credentialing requirements prior to start

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy renal Med / Surg unit

Manage a patient ratio of 1 : 5-6, ensuring safe and effective clinical support

Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and document care using Epic

Perform central line blood draws, wound care, manage surgical drains, and monitor telemetry

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV therapy, physical therapy (PT), respiratory therapy (RT), pharmacy, and rapid response

Float to other medical-surgical or clinical units as needed

Participate in orientation and complete all required training modules

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
