JOB DESCRIPTION :

As a Swim Abilities Teacher youll bring our specialized Swim Abilities curriculum to life using the Swim Abilities Methodology to teach children with special needs such as autism anxiety motor challenges sensory issues or developmental delays how to feel safe confident and empowered in the water. This is more than a job; its an opportunity to transform lives through personalized therapy-focused swim instruction.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Prioritize safety creating a secure and nurturing environment for every student
• Deliver private swim lessons with patience creativity and enthusiasm adapting to each childs unique needs
• Follow tailored lesson plans to help students progress toward group lessons when appropriate celebrating milestones along the way
• Engage with students using sensory visual and physical stimulation techniques to foster comfort and confidence
• Collaborate with monitors and team members to refine your teaching approach and grow your expertise
• Maintain consistent attendance to provide stability and build trust with students and families
• Embody the Barron Mission making a lasting impact through compassionate individualized instruction

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

• Swim 30 feet with ease to lead by example
• Lift and transition students from young children to high school age weighing 50 lbs or more to assist as needed
• Rely on sharp vision and hearing to keep every swimmer safe
• Thrive during 4 hours in a chlorinated pool

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Passion for walking with children with special needs and a commitment to their growth
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students and families
• Previous experience in swim instruction special education or therapy-based roles is a plus
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse needs and learning styles
