Job Overview
The Demand Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate demand forecasts at the item and plant level to support Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) processes. This role plays a key part in enabling data-driven decisions across the organization by partnering closely with Sales, Operations, Fulfillment, and Finance to ensure forecasts align with business objectives and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and analysis of monthly demand forecasts across multiple trailer business units.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Fulfillment teams to ensure demand signals reflect market dynamics and customer trends.
- Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure forecast alignment with production capacity and procurement plans.
- Support and participate in monthly SIOP meetings, contributing data-driven insights and forecast updates to executive and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Analyze forecast accuracy, identify root causes of variance, and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
- Monitor and report on key demand planning KPIs (e.g., forecast accuracy, bias, service level).
- Assist with forecasting of new product introductions (NPIs) and manage demand across product life cycles.
- Contribute to inventory health analysis, including excess and aged stock trends.
- Support scenario planning efforts and provide ad hoc demand analyses to support strategic decision-making.
- Maintain a customer-centric approach by fostering strong collaboration across internal teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Analytics, or related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in demand planning , SIOP, or forecasting roles (manufacturing, retail, or CPG preferred).Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas); experience with PowerPoint and Word.Working knowledge of forecasting tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Kinaxis, or similar).Experience using Power BI or other analytics tools for visualization and reporting.Strong analytical skills with a focus on continuous improvement and attention to detail.Effective communicator and collaborative partner across functions and levels of the organization.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
