Accounts Payable Specialist

Accounts Payable Specialist Job Responsibilities :

• Manage payments and control expenses by accurately receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
• Ensure accuracy in processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
• Allocate expenses to appropriate accounts and cost centers through detailed analysis of invoice and expense reports.
• Facilitate vendor payments by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal ID numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving any discrepancies in purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payments.
• Ensure the organization receives credit for outstanding memos.
• Issue stop-payments or amend purchase orders as necessary.
• Process employee reimbursements by verifying expense reports and advance requests; prepare checks promptly.
• Maintain accurate accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
• Reconcile vendor accounts by reviewing monthly statements and related transactions.
• Maintain historical records efficiently by microfilming and filing documents.
• Disburse petty cash while accurately recording entries and verifying documentation.
• Report sales taxes by calculating requirements based on paid invoices.
• Protect the organization’s value by ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
