American Express engages with thousands of third parties to provide goods and services. To ensure we protect our brand, avoid financial impact and adhere to various laws and regulations, all high-risk third parties are subject to risk management throughout the third-party lifecycle.

The GSM Third-Party Center of Excellence (COE) Reporting & Analytics team is responsible for the data management, transformation, analysis, and visualization of insights in support of the third-party management program. This team produces reporting and analytics for various stakeholders including the Third-Party COE, AXP Business Units, Management Committees and Risk Subject Matter Experts.

How will you make an impact in this role?

In this role as Data Analyst, the successful candidate will be responsible for understanding analytical requirements, data transformation, applying statistical tools and ML applications and data visualization for the Third-Party COE. The candidate will drive success of the analytical reports by working closely with program stakeholders, maintaining a strong project management framework, developing transformation logic, and providing value-added reporting.

  • Drive Analytical capabilities in support of GSM and AXP Business Units
  • Analyze the existing environment and derive opportunities, recommend alternative solutions to technical problems.
  • Deliver high quality and accurate results in a timely manner.
  • Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic models and systems.
  • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis.
  • Propose and implement solutions to ad-hoc business problems, working independently to leverage data, drive insights, and presenting results in a clear and concise manner.
  • Predictive Analysis and visualization
  • Data mining using state-of-the-art methods.
  • Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance
  • Meticulous attention to details while preserving the goal and timeframe of end products
  • Translate requirements into concepts and user experience design – associate with stakeholders / business partners to enhance design suggestions.
  • Drive Data strategy initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in analytics.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree relevant to the industry (other credentials will be a plus)
  • Strong analytical bend and experience on analytics tools in Excel, Tableau, SQL, Alteryx etc.
  • Proficiency in dealing with large quantities of complex data and ability to derive actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
  • Prior project management experience, with proven ability to create powerful analytics and reporting is a must.
  • Proven strong performance behavior in previous role.
  • Excellent Visual Design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction – experience in developing reporting solutions towards complex multi-paneled, interactive dashboards.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Third-party risk reporting knowledge would be preferred.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple manner to a global audience.
  • Independent and self-motivated, capable of executing under uncertainty with multiple priorities, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Salary Range : $70,000.00 to $135,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
