Stepdown Cardiac Neuro - Nights

NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE)

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Guaranteed hours : 36

Shift Requirement : 12hr Nights 6 : 30-7

Required Certs to be attached upon submittal : Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.

Minimum Experience REQUIRED : 2 solid years Stepdown + 1 travel contract OR 5 years of solid Stepdown if no travel experience

Charting Experience : Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)

Float Requirement : First to float within skillset.

Weekend / Holiday Requirement : Three weekends out of every six-week schedule. Every other holiday.

Patient Population : Post procedure cardiac (cath / stents / interventions, pacers, ICD, ablation), Identify / care of STEMI / NSTEMI, Carotid endarterectomy, Sepsis, Neuro (CVAs, seizures, possible TBI), DKA.

Skillset : Tele / 12-lead EKG interpretation (TRAVELERS REQUIRED TO PASS TELE TESTS), post heart cath care (fem. / TR bands), initiate / titrate drips (Cardizem, Amio, cardene, nitro, Insulin, Heparin), NIHSS / strong neuro assessments, sepsis care, chest tubes, PIV insertion. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!

Unit Information : 19 beds, blended unit (8 designated Stepdown bed, 11 MS / T)

Ratio : Days 1 : 5-6; NOCs 1 : 4; CN will take patients. Stepdown RNs will take MS / T patients.

Scrub Colors : Navy blue scrubs
