• ERCP certification is a nice to have

Description :

Seeking a Gastroenterology Physician for an inpatient practice setting.

The call structure is approximately 1 : 4.

Responsibilities include floor, ED, ICU, emergent consults, and endoscopies as needed.

The physician will carry a beeper overnight.

Outpatient responsibilities to be determined and will be provided soon.

Reason for coverage is due to retirement.

Coverage dates begin in mid-December until a permanent placement is found.

The clinical areas will focus on adult gastroenterology and endoscopy.

Onsite lab and X-ray facilities are available.

Expected average number of hospital-based patients is 4-12 per day.

The documentation system used is EPIC.

Credentialing timeframe is estimated to start in mid to late December.

Required procedures include esophageal dilatation, manometry, small bowel biopsy, lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, and liver biopsy.

Types of upper GI endoscopy include biopsy, foreign body removal, cautery or laser for bleeders, varices injection and banding, diagnostic, therapeutic, and PEG placement.
