Medical Assistant II Compensation
The pay for this position is $22.00 per hour.
Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment.
A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates.
Medical Assistant II Highlights
This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire permanently based on attendance, performance, and business needs.
The required availability for this position is full-time, Monday–Friday standard clinic hours.
Medical Assistant II Responsibilities
Escort patients to / from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment areas.
Record patient information before each visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication updates.
Obtain patient medical records needed for exams, procedures, or treatments.
Prepare and stock exam / treatment rooms, maintain supplies, and follow all disinfection protocols.
Assist physicians with exams and procedures based on practice protocols.
Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections (as delegated by RN or physician).
Respond to patient calls and perform clerical duties such as faxing, filing, typing, scheduling, and reception tasks.
Alert physicians or nurses regarding abnormal vitals or important patient-reported concerns.
Collect inbound meaningful use data (e.g., flu documentation, initial height / weight).
Print medication lists for patient review.
Complete disability forms and schedule blood transfusions or therapeutic procedures.
Order specialty lab tests such as Oncotype, KRAS, EGFR, Myriad, Paradigm, etc.
Enter provider-directed orders under supervision where permitted.
Medical Assistant II Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 3 years experience as a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant
Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required
Phlebotomy experience preferred
Certified Medical Assistant preferred
Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
Must meet state requirements for medical assisting where applicable
Medical Assistant II Preferred Qualifications
Experience in oncology or hematology clinic settings
Experience in high-volume clinical workflows
Strong patient care, communication, and clinical support skills
