Job Description
Job Description
Tacos on the Street is a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant with a tight beverage program — bottled beer, shaken margaritas, and mezcalitas. We don’t do full bar service or elaborate cocktails. Every drink we serve is clean, consistent, and built for speed.
As a bartender, you’ll execute simple cocktails to spec, serve bottled beer quickly, and maintain a clean, organized bar station. When drink orders are slow, you’ll rotate into Front-of-House duties — running food, clearing tables, working the register, or restocking stations. This role is hands-on, fast-moving, and team-centered.
Key Responsibilities
Drink Execution
Prepare shaken margaritas and mezcalitas using jiggers, fresh citrus, and proper garnishes
Rim glasses consistently and garnish as required
Serve bottled beer quickly and accurately
Set up and break down the bar station at open and close
Restock spirits, juices, ice, cups, garnishes, and bar tools throughout shift
Maintain clean and sanitized bar tools and surfaces at all times
FOH Support (when not serving drinks)
Operate the register and take guest orders at the front counter
Run food and drinks to tables quickly and with care
Clear and wipe down tables, stock utensils and napkins, and maintain the dining area
Refill guest sauces and clean up dining room spills or messes
Support other FOH team members during busy periods and shift changeovers
Guest Experience
Greet guests warmly and confidently at the bar or register
Check IDs and follow all alcohol service protocols
Answer guest questions clearly and respectfully
Manage bar tabs and process payments in the POS system
Represent the brand with professionalism, speed, and a team-first attitude
Cleanliness & Compliance
Follow all TABC regulations and internal alcohol service policies
Wipe counters, sanitize bar tools, manage trash and recycling
Maintain proper temperature control for mixers and perishables
Report any safety, cleanliness, or equipment issues to management
Physical Requirements
Stand and move for 8–10 hours per shift
Lift and carry up to 40 lbs (cases of beer, juice, bar supplies, etc.)
Work in a hot, loud, high-traffic environment with tight spaces
Bend, reach, and navigate between bar, register, and dining areas repeatedly
What We’re Looking For
Fast, accurate, and calm under pressure
Clean and consistent with every drink, no shortcuts or freelancing
Strong sense of responsibility around alcohol service
Always willing to jump in — whether that’s running food, restocking, or wiping tables
Previous bar or high-volume service experience is a plus
Requirements
Must have a current TABC Certification and Texas Food Handler’s Certificate before your first shift
Reliable transportation to and from the restaurant
What You’ll Get
Training on our margarita, mezcalita, and beer program
Tip pool participation and competitive hourly pay
Cross-training in bar, cashier, runner, and dining room support roles
Opportunities to grow into FOH leadership roles
