GeBBS Healthcare Solutions, a nationally recognized leader in Health Information Management (HIM) and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), is expanding our audit team. We’re seeking experienced, AHIMA-certified Facility Inpatient Coding Auditors to support our nationwide client base.

Role Overview

You will review and audit inpatient medical records to ensure accurate and compliant assignment of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG codes in line with official guidelines, payer rules, and organizational policies. Your work will help optimize DRG assignment, protect revenue integrity, and reduce compliance risk through detailed feedback and education.

Key Responsibilities

Auditing & Compliance

  • Conduct inpatient coding audits for accuracy and compliance with UHDDS and regulatory standards.
  • Validate MS-DRG and APR-DRG assignments to maintain an accurate case mix index (CMI) and reimbursement.
  • Identify coding errors, missed opportunities, and potential compliance risks.
  • Track and report coding trends to leadership.

Education & Training

  • Provide targeted feedback and education to coding staff.
  • Develop and present training to improve coding accuracy and compliance.
  • Stay current with coding guidelines, AHA Coding Clinic updates, and payer policies.
  • Collaboration & Reporting

  • Partner with facility leadership, compliance, and quality teams to resolve DRG discrepancies.
  • Prepare and present detailed audit findings to management.
  • Requirements : Qualifications

  • Credentials : CCS, RHIT, or RHIA (AHIMA certification required)
  • Experience : Minimum 3 years of recent facility inpatient coding and auditing experience (MS-DRG & APR-DRG) in an acute care setting
  • Systems : Proficiency with EHR / EMR systems; EPIC, Cerner, and Meditech preferred
  • Knowledge : Strong understanding of CMS, UHDDS, and official coding guidelines
  • Skills : Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills
  • Availability : Full-time preferred; part-time (20+ hours / week) available
