Job Description
Primary Purpose
Responsible for the extraction, analyses and submission of data and reporting in support of Sempra's federal, state and local compliance efforts (AAPs, EEO1, and VETS4221) including surveys to gain positive branding by achieving recognition as a desirable workplace from national institutions. Examines and communicates data analysis results to inform strategic goals and contribute to the progress of Sempra's diversity & inclusion efforts. Collaborates with business partners and data steward to discover data driven insights, patterns, and trends that address employees' demographic gaps. Effectively tells the story through the aid of visualizations / dashboards which bring data insights to life.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to ensure completion of annual Affirmative Action Plans; support leadership in presenting FAAPs to functional teams to locate gaps and identify remedies; support OFCCP / EEOC audits. Leads efforts to compile and complete federal reporting including VETS4221 and EEO1; communicate project plans, provide briefings and obtain leadership signoff as needed.
- Analyzes workforce data and develops reporting to support D&I compliance activities, including AAP, EEO and local / state / federal training requirements; monitor regulatory and legislative changes and improves systems to meet reporting needs. Ensures data integrity and design data systems in partnership with HR, IT, Operations, and external vendors to help meet reporting and compliance requirements.
- Develops D&I dashboards and support leadership with presentation to all audiences, including Board of Directors, upper management, and employee councils. Ensures mastery of workforce data and reporting to effectively communicate and provide strategic recommendations to leadership regarding D&I goals, gaps and progress.
- Stays abreast of industry trends / best practices and provide recommendations to help formulate department goals and company strategic plans.
- Supports D&I programs, including leading the enterprise-wide mentoring program, attending ERG and LDIC meetings and events, assisting with planning and execution of events.
- Understands the employees’ demographic data, visualization and process automation needs as well as assist in documenting gaps for solution development. Socializes models / transformations to promote transparency of analysis and confirm department and company’s goals are met.
- Partners with data stewards to analyze optimal data flow and transformations to convey the business story.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business, IT, related field or equivalent training and / or experience, requiredExperience
5 years of HRIS, HR analytics, and / or related experience, including some project management or system enhancement experience, required5 years of intermediate or advanced training or experience with Excel, including formulas and macros, requiredSkills and Abilities
Advanced skills with Excel : Building and maintaining complex spreadsheets, utilizing pivot tables, VLOOKUP and other advanced formulas, visualizations such as charts & graphs, and application of multiple filters in order to solve large-scale computations, requiredProject Management experience and keen ability to track, manage and communicate deadlines and juggle priorities, requiredExcellent communication (verbal, written, and listening) skills, requiredStrong work ethic and ability to produce high quality, accurate work under significant deadline pressures, requiredAbility to work with and maintain confidential information, requiredExperience with SharePoint, preferredCapable of visually captivating stories through data, preferredCapable of conducting data experiments, evaluating of trends, and statistical outcomes, preferredCapable of identifying employee demographic gaps through data analytics and analysis, preferredMust reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.We offer a hybrid work environment.
