Director Of Mission Integration And Faculty Engagement
Loyola Marymount University seeks a visionary and collaborative leader to serve as the inaugural Director of Mission Integration and Faculty Engagement within the Office of the Provost. This role is central to the LMU faculty's enduring commitment to equity and justice through teaching, scholarship, and service, rooted in our Catholic, Jesuit, and Marymount identity and our university mission. The Director will help shape and implement LMU's mission integration initiative, ensuring accountability and impact. The Director will lead initiatives focused on faculty engagement, faculty development, and interdisciplinary collaboration, while working closely with faculty, faculty affinity group leaders, and campus partners. The Director will report to the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs and Professional Development.
Position Specific Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Mission Integration, Faculty Hiring, and Faculty Development
- Create impactful connections between the university's mission particularly its focus on recognizing and nourishing the full person of every member of our community; of bringing people into greater connection with each other; and for guiding individual and communal efforts.
- Design and implement policies, processes and capacity building interventions to bring mission more fully into faculty hiring, onboarding and retention (the faculty lifecycle). Collaborate with campus partners in the Division of Human Resources, Division of Mission, and Center for Faculty Development as needed.
- Design interventions to support faculty in their mission-centered engagement through research and teaching activities, and the daily life of faculty members in their classrooms and departments. Focus particularly on actions and initiatives aimed at fostering and supporting faculty members' communal orientations towards their teaching, research, and service.
- Lead initiatives designed to advance the university's strategic plan commitments that align with mission-integration.
Accountability to Advancing Equity, Inclusion and Justice
Develop and operationalize metrics that align with initiative goals and organizational priorities. Establish accountability structures to ensure transparency and progress tracking across all stakeholders.Create and manage assessment strategies to evaluate effectiveness and inform decisions. Lead reporting efforts to communicate outcomes, insights, and recommendations to senior administrators and the faculty community.Conduct comprehensive analysis of faculty culture to foster respectful, collaborative, and transparent relationships. Engage international faculty to contribute global viewpoints and diverse perspectives to enrich the academic environment.Reach and Impact
Provide thought partnership to colleges / schools to design, launch, and sustain major institutional initiatives and external grant proposals by and for faculty that are in alignment with equity, inclusion, belonging and justice.Facilitate dialogues across disciplines to highlight faculty diversity of thought and the influence of LMU faculty on the broader academic community.Capture and share success stories of faculty advancing LMU's mission through scholarship, teaching, and service and in alignment with the institution's commitment to academic freedom and inquiry.Loyola Marymount University Expectations

Requisite Qualifications
Typically a Master's degree in a related field and a record of scholarly achievement or equivalent experience.
