Commercial Insurance Agent

We're looking for a self-driven Commercial Insurance Agent with experience writing business across specific industries and strong SIC focus contractors in Texas (focus in DFW area.), medical offices, restaurants, retail, and professional services.

You'll receive some inbound leads aligned to our target SIC codes, and you'll have access to our enormous database of business information, but you're expected to own the full sales process from quote to close. (Training is provided and we'll always be there to back you up, but this is your baby.)

This is a mostly 'field' sales position. There is office time for training and paperwork, but 'meeting and greeting' in the field your chosen industries will be your work.

The compensation on this ad is limited by the Job Boards, and they will not post this ad if we were to put the actual potential range, but a top producer can expect to earn a lot more than what is posted here,

There is a small base plus commissions are generous and there are bonuses, Leads are provided as well as training from University of Farmers. Contact the recruiter for specifics about the compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities

Manage inbound and outbound commercial leads for businesses in targeted industries

Quote and bind coverage (BOPs, workers comp, commercial auto, Umbrella, etc.) in TX.

Navigate carrier portals and underwriting for both standard and niche markets

Educate clients and deliver tailored risk management strategies

Maintain compliance and clear documentation in CRM systems

Build lasting relationships for retention and referral business

Artisan Contractors : Electrical, tile, flooring, landscaping, cleaning, etc.

Restaurants : From fast casual to fine dining and bagel shops with on-premise baking

Retail & Service Providers : Florists, apparel stores, musical instrument retailers

Medical & Health Practices : Chiropractors, optometrists, podiatrists, and dentists.

Professional Services : Lawyers, accountants, real estate agents, consultants, IT firms

Requirement

• 1+ years of commercial insurance sales experience preferred, but not required. We will train.
• Active P&C General Lines License in Texas (in good standing) Required and Life & Health preferred for Business life Insurance production.
• Ability to work independently with minimal training (We will provide the best onboarding and additional training through the University of Farmers)
• Familiarity with small business markets and underwriting nuances is a plus
• Commercial Insurance requires some old fashioned 'hustle, but the rewards can be great.
