Position : Computer Programming / Computer Information Systems Technology (CIST) Program Instructor

Location : Athens Campus

Department : Division of Business Industry and Technology

Reports to : Program Chair for CIST Program and Divisional Academic Dean

Salary / Benefits : Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits.

Responsibilities :

• Under general supervision instruct students in computer programming and information systems technology skill areas.
• Follow state standards in developing program and course outlines goals and objectives.
• Develops syllabi to meet program and school objectives.
• Evaluates students progress in attaining goals and objectives.
• Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares required budget requests.
• Maintains program certification requirements as appropriate.
• Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
• Attends staff development training workshops seminars and conferences.
• Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
• Responds in a timely manner to administrative requests.
• Meets with students staff members and other educators to discuss students instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students.
• Assists with recruitment retention and job placement efforts.
• Maintains program certification requirements as appropriate.
• Demonstrates strong time management and organization skills.
• Demonstrates effective written and oral communication.
• Contributes to the writing of accreditation and assessment reports.
• Demonstrates general computer knowledge (Microsoft Word Excel).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
