Dimensional Quality Inspector Level 1 (1st and 2nd shift)

Position Summary :

Level One : Inspects forged bars rings and / or rough machined parts to ensure conformance to specifications by assisting the Chief Inspector and performing the following duties under little supervision and training.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities :

• Reads blueprints or engineering specifications to obtain product information such as specified material surface finish and dimensions.
• Compares surface finish of workpiece to finish on set of standard blocks making fingertip touch comparison to ensure production of specified surface finish.
• Measures dimensions such as length height and distance between reference points to ensure product meets
• Locates reference point on part and measures dimensions such as angle arc and
• Reports findings to Inspection Supervisor and if necessary write Inspection Deviation Report (IDR) if parts are not in conformance.
• Sets up and tries out inspection equipment to ensure
• Substitutes known values such as dimensions from blueprints into standard formulas and solves for unknown quantities to determine dimensions not specified in blueprints.

• Uses forklifts and cranes to move heavy
