The project and your role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive technical professional with strong expertise in SQL database administration and IIS web server management. You will maintain and optimize our database and web application systems, playing a critical role in ensuring the performance, security, and availability of our client's IT infrastructure within the IT Services and IT Consulting sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IIS web servers and web applications.
  • Design and implement database schemas, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Diagnose and resolve web application performance issues and errors.
  • Perform regular database tuning, optimization, and performance monitoring.
  • Implement and maintain backup and recovery plans; ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Plan and execute database conversions and migrations.
  • Apply go-live updates and changes to production databases and web applications.
  • Implement and maintain web server security best practices.
  • Collaborate with development, product, and infrastructure teams to support application data needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database and web application-related issues.

Your skills

  • Proven experience as a DBA with a strong emphasis on SQL.
  • Must-have expertise in MS SQL Server, MySQL, and AWS  RDS.
  • Experience with IIS web server configuration and management.
  • Expertise in writing complex SQL queries and performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of web application troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Experience with database conversion projects and production go-live support.
  • Familiarity with backup strategies, replication, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Understanding indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
