The Equipment Dispatch Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient movement of heavy equipment and vehicles between job sites. This position serves as the central communication hub between field teams, drivers, and project managers, ensuring timely deliveries and optimal equipment condition. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily dispatch schedules for heavy equipment and vehicles
- Monitor equipment location and status using GPS and dispatch software
- Communicate with drivers, maintenance crews, and site supervisors to confirm availability and requirements
- Plan and optimize routes based on site priorities, traffic patterns, and equipment specifications
- Maintain accurate dispatch records including load manifests, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation
- Troubleshoot service disruptions, delays, and equipment issues in real time
- Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and operations teams to forecast equipment needs
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required2+ years of dispatch, logistics, or transportation coordination experienceExperience coordinating heavy machinery or specialized equipment preferredProficiency with dispatch software systems and GPS tracking toolsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented with excellent organizational skillsPreferred Skills
