job_description.job_card.job_descriptionWork in a short-term acute care hospital in a hybrid cardiac ICU / stepdown unit Unit includes 8 cardiac ICU beds and 6 cardiac stepdown beds Majority of ICU patients are pre- and post-op cardiothoracic surgery, with some advanced heart failure cases Stepdown unit cares for CT surgery, peripheral vascular, and heart failure patients Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 3 Nursing assignments may vary daily between ICU and stepdown Floating to stepdown and other units as needed within scope Night shift, 3x12 hours (19 : 00-07 : 00) Every other weekend coverage required No on-call required Epic charting system is used First-time travelers are accepted for this position Royal blue scrubs are required Return permanent staff must have a minimum two-year separation to be considered as a traveler A 75-mile radius rule applies; local candidates are not eligible for travel positions Parking is available at a cost of $125 per month RTO (Requested Time Off) of up to 7 days is auto-approved; more than 7 days requires facility approval Facility is a Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center Team members are expected to participate in emergency and disaster response activities Active CT or compact RN license required; pending license considered if active before start Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of cardiac ICU or ICU / stepdown nursing experience required Trauma center experience at a large facility required Must be comfortable with high volume cardiac (HVC) cases No prior disciplinary actions on nursing license considered Flu vaccine required; no declinations accepted COVID-19 vaccine and booster required unless valid religious or medical exemption High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
