Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac ICU / Stepdown position requiring a CT or compact RN license, with cardiac surgery and trauma center experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a short-term acute care hospital in a hybrid cardiac ICU / stepdown unitUnit includes 8 cardiac ICU beds and 6 cardiac stepdown bedsMajority of ICU patients are pre- and post-op cardiothoracic surgery, with some advanced heart failure casesStepdown unit cares for CT surgery, peripheral vascular, and heart failure patientsTypical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 3Nursing assignments may vary daily between ICU and stepdownFloating to stepdown and other units as needed within scopeNight shift, 3x12 hours (19 : 00-07 : 00)Every other weekend coverage requiredNo on-call requiredEpic charting system is usedFirst-time travelers are accepted for this positionRoyal blue scrubs are requiredReturn permanent staff must have a minimum two-year separation to be considered as a travelerA 75-mile radius rule applies; local candidates are not eligible for travel positionsParking is available at a cost of $125 per monthRTO (Requested Time Off) of up to 7 days is auto-approved; more than 7 days requires facility approvalFacility is a Level I Trauma Center and academic medical centerTeam members are expected to participate in emergency and disaster response activitiesRequirements
