Cloud Engineer (Richmond)

Position Title : Cloud AWS Engineer III

Location : Richmond, VA

Position Status : 1-Year Contract (Possible Extension or Contract-to-Hire)

Position Description : We are seeking a Senior Cloud AWS Engineer to join a dynamic and innovative team supporting a leading financial institution based in Richmond, VA. In this role, youll leverage your expertise in AWS, automation, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to design, implement, and optimize cloud-based solutions that power mission-critical systems.

Required Skills & Education

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services, including EKS and other container-based platforms
• Proficiency in Terraform and other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools
• Strong background in Ansible Automation, Packer, and GitLab (or similar CI / CD, source control, and deployment technologies)
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and application system issues
• Experience in Agile environments and implementing DevOps best practices
• Strong understanding of change management, system monitoring, and compliance frameworks
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide technical guidance and project updates
