We are looking for an experienced and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Mechanic to handle repairs and maintenance on a wide range of heavy-duty equipment. This position plays a key role in keeping our fleet reliable and safe, including loaders, dozers, haul trucks, water trucks, pickups, and other support vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Conducts daily workplace inspections and promptly reports any hazards or safety concerns.
- Diagnoses and repairs mechanical issues while performing preventive maintenance on diesel and gasoline-powered equipment such as loaders, dozers, haul trucks, water trucks, pickups, and other support units.
- Performs repairs using hand and pneumatic tools, welding and cutting equipment, lifts, and hoists, following MSHA and AWS safety standards.
- Completes pre-trip safety inspections on mobile equipment, including service trucks, and documents any findings.
- Operates equipment for diagnostics and transport while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma, trade school, or GED with 6–10 years of relevant experience or equivalent.Proficient in diagnosing and repairing diesel and gasoline engines.Able to use computers for maintenance tracking and reports.Must be able to access all mobile equipment in the plant, including working at heights, in confined spaces, on elevated platforms, and climbing ladders or stairs.Regular use of personal protective equipment is required, such as a hard hat, hearing and eye protection, safety boots, respirator (when needed), protective clothing, and gloves.Work conditions may include exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, oils, dust, fumes, and other airborne particles.Duties require standing, sitting, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, shoveling, and working on elevated areas.Must be capable of lifting up to 100 pounds.If you are interested in applying for this job please press the Apply Button and follow the application process.
