Sr Software Developer Job Summary : Talent Software Services is in search of a Sr Software Developer for a contract position in CT(100% remotely). The opportunity will be six months with a strong chance for a long-term extension. Position Summary : The role involves developing solutions to meet business and IT needs, working closely with architects and system engineers to ensure solutions conform to architectural guidance and integrate well within operational environments. This position requires expertise in various technology stacks and a deep understanding of their complex interworkings. The role demands technical subject matter expertise to provide guidance and oversight for critical systems within specific technologies. Primary Responsibilities / Accountabilities : ​​​​Ensure systems conform to architectural standards. Address issues and collaborate to implement changes as necessary. Work collaboratively and provide expertise to system engineers and project teams. Monitor applications and software systems for issues and opportunities. Utilise deep SDLC experience to provide support from architecture to implementation. Oversee systems testing, including stress testing, performance testing, functional testing, and scalability testing. Develop systems, scripting and software to automate processes and streamline routines. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, including application configuration, infrastructure, database, interface, and batch program issues. Qualifications : Application development and engineering experience, including baseline support experience. Strong customer communication skills and excellent interpersonal communication. Strong systems script development experience and the ability to write scripts and programs. Strong Linux systems knowledge and experience. Strong Windows server experience, including administration and troubleshooting / resolution. Proven experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or similar role. Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment. Proficiency in at least one object-oriented or functional language (C# preferred, Java, C, F#, Haskell). Knowledge of coding and / or scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, KSH, Python, SAS). System integrations (REST, SOAP, file-based, API). Critical Thinking : Analyse data and solve problems to reach well-reasoned solutions. SOLID and DevOps should influence analysis, design, and deployment. Team Mentality : Partner effectively to drive culture and execute on common goals. Ability to shift perspective from high-level 'Big Picture' to low-level detail. Learning Agility : Openness to new ways of thinking and acquiring new skills to retain a competitive advantage. Desire to find improvements in existing processes.
