The Medical Assistant provides and coordinates medical care in an outpatient setting following a patient-centered, primary care model including the following tasks :
Completes patient rooming process.Completes patient testing and procedures following provider orders / standing orders.Performs desktop management and computer tasks.Performs immunizations and injections.Performs general clinical operation duties.Precepts new employees and coaches MA Apprentices.Orders supplies, medications, and vaccines.As a Medical Assistant Apprentice, you will :
Complete 2,000 hours of PAID on-the-job training with the support and guidance of an experienced 1 on 1 MA coachComplete 434 hours of supplemental coursework (unpaid) & concurrent online coursework.Attend 3 in-person lab days in the Seattle area with an expert instructor to practice and demonstrate competency of hands-on technical skillsLog & report on-the-job hours and skill practices as required.After successful completion of the program, you will qualify for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam through the National Health Career Association (see information at ). After passing the exam, you will be eligible to apply for the MA-Certified license through the Washington State Department of Health (DOH).

Timely completion of WA State's Apprenticeship Agreement forms (if hired)Commitment to working at UCNW as a Medical Assistant for a minimum of one year following successful program completion, testing and licensure as long as you remain in good standing as an employeeSigning UCNW's Education Assistance Agreement and Promissory Note outlining the payback clause if you do not fulfill the commitmentAvailable to start on Monday, January 19, 2026Able to attend the program's required virtual kickoff meeting on Friday, July 23, 2026If a UCNW employee, must have been in good standing in current role for at least one year – exceptions may be made upon approvalPreferred Qualifications
