Position Summary
The Certified Surgical Technician (CST) (Part-Time) assists the surgeon during operative and invasive procedures. Assures operating suite is adequately prepared for procedure. Assists in the monitoring of PAR level of all surgical instruments and supplies. The CST will move between the ORs and the SPD space and participate in the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms in a timely manner with all necessary instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain a sterile instrument table and follow department standard setup for efficiency.
- Assist surgeons intraoperatively by anticipating their needs and ensuring smooth procedural flow.
- Accurately complete operating room counts (instruments, sponges, needles) and report any discrepancies.
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments following established protocols.
- Follow proper aseptic techniques and infection control measures to ensure patient safety.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of surgical instruments and supplies.
- Assist in patient positioning, prepping, and draping for surgical procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government laws, regulations, AAOA, and company policies.
- Document procedures and patient interactions in accordance with standards and guidelines.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, colleagues, and self by adhering to safety protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent requiredCurrent Scrub Technician Certification requiredCurrent BCLS Certification requiredMinimum of one (1) year of experience in the operating room requiredOther Requirements :Basic computer skills
