This position functions as the primary, strategic business leader of the Omni Royal Orleans, responsible for all aspects of the operation, including guest and associate satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, sales, and revenue generation intended to deliver a return on investment to ownership. The General Manager leads a team in the development and implementation of property-wide strategies and ensures implementation of brand service strategy and initiatives, with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations. In addition, the General Manager builds relationships with key customers and members through personal involvement in the sales process. The position ensures Omni Hotels & Resorts sales channels are leveraged and initiates independent and proactive sales activities, when appropriate, to generate demand.
Responsibilities include setting goals and expectations for direct reports, identifying leadership and fostering career development, inspiring and motivating the team to achieve operational excellence, creating a cohesive leadership team and positive business environment, developing deployment strategies to market property, supporting the sales strategy, reviewing the STR report, competitive shopping reports, and using other resources to maintain an awareness of the property's market position, identifying key drivers of business success, reviewing sales goals and strategies, ensuring sales and revenue engines are leveraged to drive RevPAR improvement year over year, ensuring capital expenditure funds are being budgeted and deployed effectively, holding staff accountable for successful performance, utilizing an "open door" policy, communicating with a clear and consistent message regarding property goals, fostering associate engagement, conducting annual performance appraisals, hiring executive committee team members, working collaboratively with Global Sales Offices, participating in daily Operations meetings, participating directly in risk management issues and prevention, ensuring accurate revenue, expense and labor forecasts and execution, creating appropriate development plans, and partnering with Corporate operations and marketing to reposition the hotel and brand initiatives.
Qualifications include 3+ years minimum experience as a General Manager in an upscale environment, previous experience in a similar environment and type of hotel, previous renovation / project management experience, strong leadership skills, excellent communications skills, ability to motivate team to provide best-in-class customer service, 10+ years of P&L responsibilities, and a Bachelor's degree preferred.
