About the Job

The School of Public Health division of Health Policy and Management is seeking applications for a full-time Data Programmer and Analyst (Research Professional 4 (8354DA)-Data Analytics).

Starting Salary Range : $71,500 - $92,000 annually dependent upon the selected candidate's relevant qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

The person in this role will support multiple projects focused on improving the quality of long-term services and supports (LTSS), including nursing homes, assisted living, and home- and community-based services (HCBS). This position requires strong data management and collaboration skills.

Data Management and Database Construction (50%)

• Construct analytic databases from various data sources, including healthcare claims, surveys, and electronic health records.
• Clean, merge, and prepare datasets for analysis, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with data use agreements.
• Document data processes and maintain reproducible workflows.

Statistical Analysis (40%)

Data Infrastructure Development (10%)

Example Projects

Develop 5-star rating scores, thresholds, and risk-adjustment models for assisted living facilities in Minnesota.

Apply working knowledge of healthcare claims data to advance research aims while accounting for limitations outlined in data use agreements.

Support analytic and data coordination activities, including project-specific data management and reporting needs.

All work will be conducted in close collaboration with faculty investigator. The position also offers opportunities to contribute to peer-reviewed journal publications resulting from these analyses.

Pay Range : $34.38-$44.23 / hour ($71,500-$92,000 annual); depending on education / qualifications / experience
