Network Engineering Manager
OCC is looking for a Network Engineering Manager to join the team. This dynamic role combines operational and strategic responsibilities, blending technical and managerial duties, including HR direct report, vendor and customer interactions. Key responsibilities include overseeing network service and delivery across various platforms, such as Cisco ACI, Checkpoint, F5 and hybrid LAN / Cloud (AWS) environments. The goal is to ensure the team consistently delivers a high-quality, stable network experience for customers.
Primary duties and responsibilities include :
- Oversee management of team members from HR, mentoring and career development.
- Design, implement, oversee and support services for customers and partners.
- Ensure compliance with Network, IT, Security and Governance standards (NIST-CSF, COBIT)
- Enhance network performance and availability.
- Document, research, publish, maintain company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with project teams to improve network deployments and operations.
- Work with management and partners to refine processes and reduce inefficiencies.
- Encourage innovations, out-of-the-box problem-solving.
- Collaborate with customers, partners, vendors and carriers to identify and address complex challenges.
- Support enterprise on-call rotations and change management schedule.
- Manage, mentor and assist team members.
Serve as part of the network management team, overseeing direct reports and coordinating with fellow managers, working together as one team.
Qualifications include :
2+ years' experience successfully managing / leading technical teams.Understanding of network management, security, monitoring.Excellent written and verbal communications skills.Flexible to work on / off shift to meet company, customer and internal requirements.Detailed documentation skill set, including planning, material preparation and public speaking.Clear, concise and precise written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds.Strong interpersonal, leadership, project management and mentoring skills.Strong ability to use solution-oriented approach towards problem resolution.Ability to work independently and be a team player.Demonstrated capability and desire to help manage people, process, systems.Technical skills must have :
Advanced knowledge of routing protocols, switching, firewalls (BGP, MPLS, ISIS)4+ years' experience hands on support and troubleshooting of networks.2+ years' experience with design and implementation of moderate / complex networks.Experience delivering Infrastructure as code, using and integrating DEVOPS tooling (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Python or Github).Experience building cloud infrastructure in environments such as AWS (preferred), Azure, Google, or similar.Experience using Agile Methodology.Preferred :
Experience with SDN deployments or Cisco ACI.Experience with Checkpoint firewalls (on-prep and virtual).Advanced experience with architecting, designing, deploying, and operating network elements such as DNS / IPAM; Firewalls; Network Access Control Solutions (NAC); load balancing; DDoS mitigation, tapping / sniffing infrastructures; and NTP.Excellent physical communication troubleshooting skills using cabling and signaling analyzer, packet capture and analysis.Education and / or experience :
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related field.Certificates or licenses :
Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud.Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP or CCDP) equivalent field experience.AWS certifications (DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect, Advanced Networking, or Security or equivalent field experience).The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is the world's largest equity derivatives clearing organization. The salary range listed for any given position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at OCC, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and / or education.In addition, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.We typically do not hire at the maximum of the range in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a substantial benefits package.All employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, company and individual performance and are not guaranteed.Salary Range $123,500.00 - $176,500.00 Incentive Range 8% to 15%.
