Position Information

New Hanover County is looking for a  Strategy Analyst  to join the Office Of Strategy. This position performs professional work conducting analyses and providing reports relative to performance and improvement measures across the county-wide enterprise. The ideal candidate is a team player who possesses excellent communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and collaborative problem solving skills and has the ability to analyze information, solve complex analytical challenges, and make practical recommendations based on analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support & lead process team in identifying verifying, analyzing, and implementing process improvement and process re-engineering opportunities.
  • Assists department heads, staff, and other stakeholders with understanding results of performance measures and related reporting.
  • Support & lead process improvement initiatives that drive innovation across departments to include process analysis to improve efficiency, lower costs, and improve service delivery.
  • Facilitate the design and implementation of new / improved process models and organizational structures.
  • Perform project management, analytics, and measure to ensure milestones are met and deliverables achieved.
  • Perform process improvement evaluations to analyze project results and performance that ensure improvements are sustainable.
  • Assists with strategic planning and strategy implementation efforts.
  • Creates presentations and reports including but not limited to performance data reports for the County Manager and other County officials, as required.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
  • Performs work during emergency / disaster situations.

Hours :

8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday.

Must be available to report for emergency work assignment during emergency situations.

Employment Type : Full-time, Exempt

Salary Information :

The hiring range for this position starts at $59,168 - $79,877  annually plus a competitive benefits package. Salary will be determined based on qualifications, budget, and market considerations.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement with five (5) years of related experience analyzing strategy-related data across an organization of multiple functions, a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

    Experience in Lean Six Sigma principles is preferred.
