Unit Navigator
The Unit Navigator (Preceptor) serves as a key resource and mentor for Unit Assistants, promoting accuracy, consistency, and excellence in inpatient clerical operations. This role ensures the integrity of patient records, supports timely and accurate order processing, and contributes to the education and professional growth of new and existing staff. The Navigator plays a vital role in maintaining efficient workflows and high-quality administrative support across assigned units. Unit Navigator will help ensure safe and consistent care delivery to our patients.
Support, Mentorship, and Precepting
- Train, mentor, and provide ongoing support to new and current Unit Assistants.
- Model professional standards and best practices in all aspects of the role.
- Offer constructive feedback to encourage continuous improvement and skill development.
- Partner with the Flex Pool Coordinator to share performance insights, identifying opportunities for recognition or coaching.
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Oversight
Monitor data entry accuracy within the PARAGON EMR system.Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure compliance with documentation and regulatory standards.Ensure the accuracy of consults that are placed by the Unit Assistants.Verifying that follow up appointments are correct and patients and being notified. Documentation of the follow up appointments appear in the medical record.Identify and report discrepancies, collaborating with unit leadership and direct supervisor to address and resolve issues.Administrative Excellence
