This Lighting Designer I position would service The Lighting Practice’s Chicago office.

are diverse and challenging. We design lighting for exterior environments and façades, public spaces, retail, corporate, academic, hospitality, and healthcare facilities.
A Lighting Designer I will work on a variety of projects and collaboratively with The Lighting Practice’s award-winning teams based in Chicago, IL, Dallas, TX, New York, NY, and Philadelphia, PA. Their responsibilities include :
Support senior designers in developing innovative lighting concepts that align with overall project objectives.
Collaborate effectively to ensure design integration and project success.
Contribute to the creation of compelling visual presentations and design studies.
Perform detailed photometric calculations and analyses to inform fixture selection and placement.
Assist in producing comprehensive lighting and control layouts, schedules, and drawing sets using Revit and AutoCAD.
Construction administration tasks including submittal reviews, mockup and / or progress site visits, lighting focus session, and lighting control programming sessions.
Manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently, maintaining a high standard of quality and attention to detail.
Participate in office initiatives to improve team or operational efficiency.

Compensation range offered for this IL Job Posting : $50k – $70k annually.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Lighting Design or a related field (Theater Lighting, Interior Design / Architecture, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or Electrical Engineering)
At least 1 year of experience in the architectural lighting industry
Experience with client interaction and presentations
Strong communication skills and a drive to learn
Fluent in spoken and written English
SOFTWARE SKILLS
Required :
BIM Software (Revit experience preferred)
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
