The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followedThe RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orienteesIn collaboration with the physician, the RN assures implementation of the assessment plan, evaluation, and follow-up of the plan of care for the patient population"Initiates an on-going systematic assessment of the physical, emotional, social, educational, and functional needs of the patients / families through interview, observation, and physical examinationReceives admissions and / or transfers to the unitCompletes nursing database within 24 hoursInterprets assessment data and information to develop a nursing care plan which contains problem identification, nursing diagnosis, nursing orders, approaches, interventions, short / long term goals, and discharge planningDevelops nursing care plan utilizing nursing diagnosisAssesses safety and fall risk levels for patientsTeaches and counsels patients / families, and makes referrals to appropriate resource personnel when neededDemonstrates documentation for functional training visitDocuments patient, family, and significant other teachingParticipates as a productive member of the interdisciplinary team in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of rehabilitation goalsAssures that medical orders are transcribed and processed accurately, and integrates the medical care plan into the provision of nursing careAssures that medication / IVadministration is correct and according to the established nursing policies and proceduresLooks up unfamiliar medicationsAdministers medications as orderedEvaluates effectiveness of PRN medicationsVerbalizes process for self-administered medicationsVerbalizes patient education on identified medicationsVerbalizes standing ordersVerbalizes policy and procedure for maintenance and care of central line cathetersIdentifies critical drip medications; Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.2. Current BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, or other specialty certifications preferred, depending on the setting.3. Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in a clinical setting strongly preferred (more for specialty roles like ICU or ER).4. Strong clinical knowledge, critical thinking skills, and adaptability across various care environments.5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective patient and team interactions.6. Familiarity with EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, or PointClickCare is advantageous.1.
