VCA Animal Specialty Group is a well established 24 hour emergency and specialty hospital. We are a teaching hospital that focuses on and encourages learning and professional growth.
What we're looking for : Looking for experienced techs and VAs to work in our ER and ward. RVT preferred but not required.
Schedule : 4 / 10 schedule, 8pm-630am
Compensation : $ 26 - $ 34 / hr
Shift Differential : $1 / hr for VAs & $2 / hr for RVTs (shifts starting after 6pm)
Ideal candidates must be proficient at the following :
IV catheter placement (sampling lines if qualified)
Venipuncture and U / S guided cystocentesis
Radiographs
Patient Triage
Patient care and hourly treatments
Induce anesthesia (RVT only), monitor and recover patients for minor and major ER procedures
Calculate and prepare medications / fluids (including boluses, and CRIs)
Perform diagnostics
U-cath (males only) and NG tube placement
Restrain for exams & diagnostics
Clients communication (histories, discharges, demos, prescriptions)
Applicants should be / have :
At least 2 years veterinary patient care and emergency experience required
Able to work overnights and one weekend night shift (Sat and / or Sun)
Be able to communicate thoroughly, respectfully, and compassionately
Receive and carryout instructions thoroughly, quickly and efficiently
Excellent multi-tasking skills in a busy environment
Outstanding organizational and time management skills
Able to provide exceptional client service and patient care
Work collaboratively in a team
