Role : Technical Sales & Solutions Engineer – Oil & Gas Automation (Sales Application Engineer – PSS / RS)

Location : Lewisville, TX

An industry leader in the oil and gas sector specializing in pumps, valves, and automation solutions is seeking a Technical Sales & Solutions Specialist to support both pre-sales and post-order activities for internal and external customers. This role focuses on delivering technical and commercial solutions for the Systems and Services group, representing products from leading automation platforms, including DeltaV, reliability systems, and vertically integrated solutions. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong commercial acumen to develop proposals, guide customers through solution architecture, and ensure seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a subject matter expert on process systems and reliability solutions, addressing complex technical inquiries and advising on system integration.

Collaborate with customers to define project scope, select appropriate automation technologies, and prepare detailed proposals.

Coordinate with engineering, lifecycle services, accounting, and operations teams to manage the full lifecycle of orders, from proposal to invoicing.

Support account managers with competitive positioning, market insights, and technical applications to drive growth.

Provide technical assistance for the configuration, commissioning, and maintenance of automation platforms, including DeltaV.

Lead and participate in training initiatives to enhance product knowledge and improve internal processes.

Develop turnkey proposals for both greenfield and brownfield projects, including electrical and instrumentation scopes.

Use Salesforce to manage opportunities, proposals, and customer records, ensuring accurate and timely updates.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, Petroleum, or Industrial Distribution) preferred.

Experience with engineered products in process control or oil and gas, or equivalent engineering / operations background.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across teams and with customers.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn new software tools quickly.

Additional Requirements

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds (demo or customer equipment).

Willingness to travel overnight occasionally for training, customer events, and meetings.

Capability to walk plant sites, climb ladders, and maintain safety awareness.
