Located in the Phoenix Ariz. suburb of Gilbert the Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is a 198-bed not-for profit hospital with more than 1300 team members and almost 900 doctors on staff representing all major 2014 Phoenix Childrens Hospital launched a 22-bed pediatric unit inside the hospital. Mercy Gilbert opened in 2006 and has been a vital part of the growing community. Today it is the fifth largest employer in Gilbert. Assess patient / family health problems and resources taking a leadership role in the development implementation and outcomes evaluation of a plan for nursing care. Provides professional nursing care and interventions to acutely ill adult patient populations.

• Provides comprehensive safe and effective evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient.
• Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient.
• Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior and supports ethical practice by addressing and / or escalating issues.
• Serves as an advocate for patients needs by demonstrating holistic care practices.

• Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e. Lab vitals signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
• Utilizes SBAR format tool to notify physicians and other providers of clinical findings performs nurse-to-nurse report at the bedside.
• Recognizes limits of scope of practice seeks multidisciplinary collaboration utilizes appropriate resources and follows chain of command.
• Partners with others to affect change and generate outcomes through knowledge of the patient or situation.

Delegates tasks based on the needs of the patient potential for harm patient stability task complexity and outcome predictability within the scope of skill set and practice.

This position will be on call on Monday nights during the week off on Tuesdays and also be required to cover call one weekend (Friday night Saturday and Sunday) every third weekend.
