Role : Web developer

Location : Nashville, TN

Duration : 12+ month (Hybrid)

Job Description : RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists the Office of Communication & Media Relations in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating projects and strategies that meet the overall public communication mission and goals of the Tennessee Department of Health
  • Supports the Department's Web Administrator in maintaining the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) environment, component configuration, and workflows for the deployment, organization, and navigation of content on the Department's website, www.tn.gov / health
  • Implements an accessible, user-centric online content experience in coordination with Communication team, internal content creators, and other stakeholders
  • Monitors and audits webpages and digital content for ADA and WCAG 2.1 compliance; remediate and document issues as needed
  • Functions as a liaison with Strategic Technology Solutions, STS Business Operations, and Department IT staff, to support project planning, rollout, and governance of AEM-based web properties
  • Support the integration of ADA compliance considerations and practices into the workflows of Department staff in AEM deployment of components, functionality, and webpages
  • Assist with tracking and reporting on compliance-related project milestones, metrics, and documentation; stays current on accessibility standards and best practices
  • Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Information Technology, Computer Science, Website Design, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 3+ years of experience managing Adobe Experience Manager (Sites, Assets)
  • Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining ADA and WCAG-compliant websites
  • Familiarity with web accessibility tools (e.g., Site Improve) and manual accessibility testing techniques
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Preferred :

  • Experience working as a web developer or web project manager in a government, higher education, or large public institution environment
  • Adobe AEM certification(s) or equivalent practical experience
