Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Job Specialty : Interventional Radiology

Shift : 6 : 30 AM, 10-hour Days, 40 hours per week

Experience : Accepts travelers with 1-year experience; first-time travelers with at least 2 years of experience

License : Registered Nurse

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

  • ICU care experience
  • Proficiency in moderate sedation
  • Art line, medication titration, chest tube

Job Description :

  • Collaborate with team members in a Level II Trauma Center and Level III NICU environment.
  • Manage patient types including outpatient and inpatient procedures such as biopsies, UFE, kyphoplasties, port placement, diagnostic angiograms, interventional arterial procedures, venous procedures, IVC placement, venous thrombectomies, neurological thrombectomies, coilings, aneurysm rupture repair, paracentesis, and thoracentesis.
  • Maintain a patient ratio of 1 : 1 in procedure rooms, and up to 1 : 3 in the pre / post area.
  • Utilize technology and equipment including Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors.
  • Provide support to the unit with the assistance of a Charge Nurse.
  • Float only to other procedural areas if applicable skillset, e.g., cath lab pre / post area.
  • Complete orientation with 2 shifts in unit, and 1-2 shifts in education / onboarding.
  • Participate in scheduling for routine procedures M-F 0630-1630 and remain available for emergencies 24 / 7.
  • Take on-call duties, typically every 4th weekend and 1 night during the week, based on staffing needs.
  • Fulfill holiday expectations equally between core staff and travel staff, covering 1 winter and 1 summer holiday.
  • Wear scrub colors of your choice, with green provided for procedural areas.
