job_description.job_card.job_descriptionActive OH or compact RN license required, Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, BLS certification required prior to direct patient care, ACLS, CCRN, PCCN, and NIH Stroke certifications preferred, Six months prior acute care hospital experience preferred, Familiarity with Epic EHR preferred, Pass / fail EKG test must be completed on the first day with two attempts allowed, Responsible for the care and assessment of neurological, cardiac, and withdrawal patients in a fast-paced unit, Unit receives a significant number of stroke, heart failure, and substance withdrawal cases, Must be comfortable with Bipap and monitoring cardiac drips, May work with overdoses and alcohol withdrawal patients, First time travelers are accepted, Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, Study guides are provided for the EKG test on the first day, Holiday and weekend coverage are required as scheduled,

Job Details
- Position is in a hospital-based Stepdown / Telemetry (3T) unit,
- Unit has 29 beds and cares for patients with stroke, heart failure, ETOH withdrawal, TIA, overdose, and MedSurg needs,
- Care involves full face Bipap, some cardiac drips (generally not titrated), and frequent stroke patients,
- Night shift schedule with every other weekend and every other holiday requirements,
- Floating and call requirements may apply,
- Epic EHR is used on the unit,
