Housing Connector is a tech-powered nonprofit that increases access to housing for people most in need. We partner with property owners to remove barriers to housing and work with case managers through our Zillow-powered marketplace to connect clients with available homes. Our mission is simple : no unit sits vacant while people need a home.

Project Scope :

Housing Connector seeks an independent contractor to serve as Flex Program Coordinator , supporting the deployment of City of Austin grant funds to properties and individuals to reduce barriers to housing. This role will perform the first review of incoming requests from nonprofit case managers to support clients in preventing eviction, securing housing, fleeing violent situations, and more.

This short-term contract (2–5 months) is paid at $30 / hour as an independent contractor with no benefits, for up to 20 hours per week depending on request volume. The contractor will set their own schedule in coordination with Housing Connector’s needs, with the possibility of extension based on mutual agreement and funding availability.

Contractor Will :

  • Perform initial review of funding requests from nonprofit case managers to determine eligibility and completeness.
  • Communicate with case managers using provided Salesforce templates to confirm request status.
  • Provide feedback to designated Austin contacts to improve messaging and resources for case managers about the Flex program.
  • Update case records in Salesforce in a timely manner for accurate reporting.
  • Coordinate with Housing Connector staff to escalate requests as needed.
  • Requirements :

    Skills and Qualifications :

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce Service Cloud is ideal, experience with customer support incident management tools is preferred.??
  • Exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills, ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.
  • Background in the nonprofit homelessness system, property management, or landlord-tenant relations a plus
