Dental Assistant 1 (DA1)

The University of Washington School of Dentistry (UWSOD) invites applications for a Dental Assistant 1 (DA1) located at the main campus in the D2 and D3 student teaching clinics. The Office of Clinical Services supports operations for 13 dental clinics and is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Seat patients, adjust chair, develop and mount x?ray films.
• Operate water, air, and evacuating equipment.
• Assist faculty and dental students in fundamental four?handed techniques (e.g., chair positioning, rubber dam placement).
• Sterilize instruments, fill, drain, and clean the sterilizer; prepare supplies.
• Prepare and mix amalgam, composite, cement, and medicaments; mix pumice for prophylaxis; prepare and mix impression materials.
• Prepare anesthetic syringes.
• Clean and prepare treatment areas using standardized infection control protocols.
• Maintain dental chair and equipment; monitor instrument breakage and wear.
• Perform chair?side four?handed dentistry with students in the student teaching clinics.
• Change nitrous oxide and oxygen tanks weighing approx. 2025 lbs.
• Instruct patients in home care.
• Keep all areas stocked, clean, orderly, and neat.
• Provide excellent customer service to faculty, staff, and students.
• May perform other duties of a DA1 as assigned.

Pay Range Maximum : $49,728.00 annual
