Advanced Practice Provider Orthopedic Spine Surgery

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health's Center for Neurosciences and Spine is seeking an ARNP or Physician Assistant for a full time spine opportunity located at St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor, WA. Our new provider will be joining a busy and friendly orthopedic spine surgeon committed to the success of the team, and excited to mentor and train. The service is focused on collaboration with a broader multidisciplinary team committed to delivering exceptional patient outcomes across the spine care continuum. The selected provider will enjoy a great amount of autonomy and will run their own clinic.

Duties and Responsibilities include :

Assists in the surgical suite including first assist, deep and superficial wound closure, application of internal devices and any other procedures delegated by the supervising surgeon

Performs pre-operative and post-operative care in clinics

Performs comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations

Interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests in clinics

Formulates a treatment plan for conditions within their scope of practice

Exercises judgment on conditions requiring consultation, referral or evaluation by the supervising surgeon or other health care professionals

Orders, collects and performs appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies, such as routine laboratory tests and radiologic examinations including CT, MRI and bone scan studies.

Conducts hospital rounds, writes orders, and sees patients in the ED for the surgeon if needed

Weekend rounding on infrequent / as-needed basis. No night call

Average schedule is Monday-Friday consisting of OR (surgery) inclusive of both clinic / hospital work. Schedule to include one administrative day per week.

Compensation range based on experience : $141,240 - $194,683 annually.

Job Requirements

Experience as an ARNP or Physician Assistant preferred, willing to mentor and train selected provider

Surgical experience as an APP is also preferred

Washington State license in good standing

Board certified

DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority

Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association

Pay Range

$67.90 - $93.59 / hour
